Manta rays are a members-only fish that require level 81 Fishing to obtain, and a Cooking level of 91 to cook. When consumed, manta rays restore 22 Hitpoints. Like Sea turtles, manta rays may only be caught while playing the minigame Fishing Trawler. Manta rays are very difficult to cook, and players still burn them with level 99 Cooking. Cooking gauntlets do not affect your chances to cook them without burning.
Because manta rays heal 22 hitpoints in one serving, they are considered to be among the best foods in RuneScape, second only to Rocktail, which was released on the 17 September 2009 with the Living Rock Caverns update. They also weigh less than a Tuna potato (0.5 kg) that also heals 22 hitpoints in one serving.
