A player wearing a lucky arcane spirit shield
|[view] • [talk]|
Damage reduction abilityEdit
Like the Elysian and Divine spirit shields, the Arcane spirit shield reduces all incoming damage by 30%, and 6% of the original damage dealt is drained from prayer points. For example, a hit of 2,000 would be reduced to 1,400 and 120 prayer points would be drained. This effect only works as the player has adequate prayer points; without prayer the effect does not work.
Compared to Divine and Elysian spirit shieldsEdit
The spirit shields follow the combat triangle, Arcane for magic, Divine for melee, Elysian for range. So for attacking any monster that is melee based, the Arcane spirit shield would be the preferred shield (for defensive use) rather than the Divine and Elysian shields. However the shields may still be used with different attack styles. For example, using an Arcane spirit shield on the magic-based Nex while fighting with Ranged would still be very effective because it has a good amount of magic defence. Also because the Arcane spirit shield is highly effective against melee and still very good against magic it makes it a good shield for fighting Zamorak and Saradomin bosses in the God Wars Dungeon.
