Low Level Alchemy is a non-combat spell used to convert an item into coins at the best general store price, normally 33% lower than the best specialist store or High Alchemy price.

Some items, such as discontinued items, are worth far more on the street than in the store. As such, players are advised not to carry any rare items in their inventory when casting alchemy spells, as accidental alchemising would cause a major loss for the player. One example of such an item would be a Christmas cracker. However, as of 9 November 2009, there is a warning that comes up whenever someone tries to alchemise an item worth over 500,000 coins in it's GE value, so this is no longer a risk.

Casting alchemy spells on stackable (or noted) items will only alchemise one at a time; on RuneScape Classic it alchemises the entire stack at once.

After finishing the Lumbridge/Draynor Easy Achievement diary, the explorer ring allows you to cast Low Level Alchemy 30 times a day without the use of runes (though Level 21 Magic is still required). You do get Magic experience for each cast, with 930 Magic experience daily at maximum. The ring is recharged every day.

During the week of 4 April 2008, Jagex altered the way Low Level Alchemy and High Level Alchemy function so as to render them inoperable while standing inside the Barrows crypt areas.

Remember, you cannot use Ancient Magicks or Lunar Spells if you are using regular Magic.
