Limestone detail

Limestone is a raw material used in Crafting and Divination, as well as in quests. It can either be mined, or purchased from Razmire Keelgan's builders store in Mort'ton for 10 coins.

It is required in the Regicide quest to make quicklime to make a barrel bomb, and can be used in Divination to create various signs of respite.

When limestone is crafted into limestone bricks, it has multiple significant uses, including Construction.

It can be mined by a player with a Mining level of 10, and gives 26.5 Mining experience when mined.

There are only two locations at which it can be mined:

If used on a forge, the text "I see no reason to do this." will appear in the chat window. Formerly this inflicted 80 points of damage.

Mining limestone in the quarry near the Paterdomus is one of the easy Varrock Tasks. Mining limestone in Arandar is one of the easy Tirannwn Tasks. When you finish the easy Tirannwn tasks, Meredith at the Arandar mine will buy your limestone at 50% of the GE price.

Limestone can be crafted into limestone bricks with 12 Crafting (giving 6 Crafting experience) when used with a chisel, although it may accidentally become a rock. The chance of failure drops with Crafting level, and at level 40+ it is impossible to fail.

An update on 9 November 2009 increased the quantities of limestone which could be cut.
