Leon d'Cour is one of the Champion of Champions in the Champions' Challenge activity. His special rule is that the player can have no items in inventory; only equipped items are allowed into the arena. Out of the champions who use melee, Leon d'Cour is the most powerful, so it is recommended that players equip their best weapon and use a melee protection prayer (Protect from Melee or Deflect Melee) against him. If prayer is not used, then the player should wear their best melee armour.

Leon d'Cour is weak to earth spells, but the only way to exploit this weakness is to use a Runic staff (or one of its variants) and charge it with an earth spell. In absence of this, the polypore staff or an air staff (with any standard air spell) serve as feasible alternatives to remain at an advantage over him. Ranging him is not recommended as he has high ranged defence.
