Leather chaps is a piece of weak leather armour worn on the legs, most commonly by low-level rangers. Users of magic also often wear chaps, since they give slight defence bonuses without a magic attack penalty. Players can make this item through the Crafting skill at level 18 from a soft leather, granting 27 Crafting experience. Unlike most chaps in RuneScape these chaps do not cover the inner leg area, the colour shown is the player's default clothes.
At level 44 Crafting, steel studs can be added to the chaps to make studded chaps, giving 42 Crafting experience.
