A Lava battlestaff is a medium power lava elemental staff which requires 30 Attack and Magic to wield. It has the autocast option, which can be used for all of the elemental combat spells, and it provides an unlimited amount of earth and fire runes. Lava battlestaves are dropped by the Kalphite Queen, Aberrant spectres and Infernal Mages. Earth and fire runes are only used together in the Enchant Level 6 Jewellery spell. Since there is only one spell which uses both earth and fire runes, and it is rarely cast, the lava battlestaff's primary use is convenience, as players only need one staff as opposed to a Staff of Fire and a Staff of Earth. It is the first released staff of the hybrid elemental staffs. Visually the lava battlestaff is identical to the mystic lava staff.
