To make a brooch, mine either copper rocks or tin rocks with the dwarven army axe until you get an uncut lapis lazuli, which can then be crafted into a lapis lazuli gem with the dwarven army axe or a chisel. Then chop regular trees, dead trees or evergreens, also with the axe, until you get a wooden knot. Craft this into an unfinished wooden brooch with the dwarven army axe or a chisel, and then attach the lapis lazuli gem to it to get a lapis lazuli brooch.
It is tradeable, though it cannot be sold on the Grand Exchange. Its value in the price-checker and when trading is 1250 coins. It is possible to obtain more than one of these at a time. It can be sold to a general store for 375 coins and the general store will sell it back for 1250 coins.
As it is hard to find a member to buy a lapis lazuli brooch due to its lack of useful bonuses, high alchemy at 750 coins is the most efficient way to earn money from this process. Even if the nature runes and fire runes are purchased would still return 590 coins.
