King Scorpions are aggressivemonsters found in the Dwarven Mine, the Lava Maze, in the Wilderness, and some areas on Crandor. They have a max hit of 41 and drop nothing. They are aggressive if a player's combat level is under 65, it should be noted however that players (64 combat or lower) will stop being attacked after waiting in the same area for about 10 minutes, but is immediately lost when leaving. The king scorpions patrol the iron, mithril, adamantite, and copper rocks in the area north of the Mining Guild door, the coal and tin rocks west of the Falador house stairs, and the mithril and coal rocks on Crandor . These monsters can kill a player of a lower level, however, they are a mere annoyance to players with level 30+ Defence.
King scorpions were larger than ordinary scorpions in Runescape Classic, but are now the same size with a different colour scheme. (this update happened to RS2 and at one time they were like that in RS2) However, even in RS2, the examine says: 'Wow! Scorpions shouldn't grow that big.' Yet when you examine a normal scorpion (the same size) it says: 'An extremely vicious scorpion'
