King Scorpions are aggressive monsters found in the Dwarven Mine, the Lava Maze, in the Wilderness, and some areas on Crandor. They patrol the iron, mithril, adamantite, and copper rocks in the area north of the Mining Guild door, the coal and tin rocks west of the Falador house stairs, and the mithril and coal rocks on Crandor.

It only attempts to use melee when it is aggressive towards the player. If it is attacked from a distance while pursuing a player, or if it is attacked first or provoked when it is not aggressive, it will only use ranged.

• King scorpions were larger than ordinary scorpions in Runescape Classic, but are now the same size with a different colour scheme. However the examine text remains unchanged and says: 'Wow! Scorpions shouldn't grow that big.' Yet when you examine a normal scorpion that is the same size, it says: 'An extremely vicious scorpion.'
