Jungle horror icon

Jungle horrors live on the island of Mos Le'Harmless and use melee attacks. Jungle horrors can be assigned as a Slayer task by Chaeldar, Vannaka, and Sumona.

They have stronger relatives inside the caves on the island, called Cave horrors and Unspeakable horrors.

Strategy[]

Jungle horrors can be ranged or maged from the platform on the outskirt of the township, and bringing a long-ranged weapon such as a shieldbow or two-handed crossbow when ranging helps as they can be scattered around. The various jungle plants can be ranged across, and the jungle trees can be used as safe spots as well. Another good safe spot is the wheat field north-east of Mos Le'Harmless. Standing in the eastern edge of the wheat field is recommended, because they cannot attack past the fence.

Melee can also be effective, particularly with two-handed weapons and area-of-effect abilities. In some areas of the jungle, there are three or four Horrors in the same area, which can be quickly killed right after each other.

Players with high Defence do not need to pay much attention while fighting Jungle horrors. Since Jungle horrors are highly aggressive and have a large hunt radius, those players can simply stand in a spot with many Jungle horrors, with Auto Retaliate on, and kill them without even doing anything. This is best accomplished with Ancient Magicks when maging or a halberd when meleeing. Occasionally, players should check their life points and eat if necessary, which should not happen often as the horrors can easily be killed in two to three hits. Jungle horrors do not become tolerant, so players do not need to leave the jungle to reset aggressiveness.

Trivia[]

  • They have two different types of attacks: one where the jungle horror attacks with its fists, and one where it kicks you.
  • They previously had three forms - large-sized grey, medium dark green, and small light green ones. They also had different coloured eyes: blue, green, pink, red, and yellow.
  • Prior to 12 March update, they had a completely different drop table.
