Jatizso is one of the islands which make up the Fremennik Isles. It is ruled over by King Gjuki Sorvott IV, aided by his chancellor, Thorki Silkbeard. Jatizso is a dull, grey island, whose population is heavily overtaxed and seem generally unhappy.
Interestingly, the word Jatizso is pronounced similarly to Ya, tis so!, 'Ja' being the Norwegian word for 'yes' and 'tis' being an archaic form of 'it is". This is notable because the kings of Jatizso and its sister island, Neitiznot are engaged in a continuing quarrel. The word Neitiznot is pronounced similarly to No, tis not!, and nei is Norwegian for 'no', showing the contradiction between the two islands, so when translated from Dutch and Norwegian to English, Neitiznot would be No, it's not and Jatizso would be yes, it is so or yes, 'tis so.[1]
Locals will address players by their Fremennik name gained during The Fremennik Trials.
