Jackals are a species of small, dog-like creatures native to the Kharidian Desert. Jackals are commonly found in the desert's lower reaches, near the cities of Nardah and Sophanem.

Jackals travel in large packs. These packs use their numbers to take down prey much larger than themselves, including humans that have often been weakened by the desert heat. They count as "dogs" for slayer tasks.

TriviaEdit

• When the player examines the Jackal, it gives the text "He has had his day". This is a reference to the saying "every dog has its day" or possibly the book Day of the Jackal.
• A Jackal bone, which differs from the usual bones dropped by Jackals, are common drops used in the Rag and Bone Man quest. This bone cannot be buried.
• Unlike most canine enemies, the Jackals sound effects were not updated.
