Jack Frost is an NPC with an evil plan for 2008 Christmas event. He was planning to cover the whole of Gielinor with ice, and players have to stop him in a Christmas-themed holiday event. The reward for completing this event is a Santa suit and a chilly Ice amulet.
Players have to locate the position of Jack by operating the ice amulet. A snow imp will join the player in locating Jack. When Jack Frost is found, he flees and the imp notifies the player that he will be able to teleport the player to Jack's hideout. Please notice that if the ice amulet isn't equipped, Jack Frost is invisible to the player before he attacks.
If the player agrees, he/she will arrive at the hideout. Jack Frost challenges the player. Players simply have to confront him, and Jack will be knocked back. In the following cutscene, the Queen of Snow, Jack's mother, arrives. She will be alarmed after she discovers that Jack has frozen his father Nick (Santa Claus).
With the help of the player, Santa Claus gets defrosted. Players are then rewarded with a Santa suit.

- Jack Frost is 44 years old, but due to the Ice Sprite's slow rate of aging, he has the mental and physical age of 17.
- Although he is first encountered during the 2008 Christmas Event, Jack Frost was already visible on one of the four Christmas cards released by Jagex on 12 December.
- Jack Frost is based off of a fictional character bearing the same name.
