Item packs facilitate the buying of large quantities of items from a shop. The pack has two options: Open and Open-All. "Open" can be used to deposit items from a single pack, while "Open-All" can be used to deposit items from all packs. Note that players cannot sell the item packs back to the shop.
The Spirit shards pack, released on 9 September 2009 along with the quest Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf, was the first item pack introduced by Jagex. On 9 November, several other item packs were released. All items contained in a pack are in their noted form.
Interestingly, despite weighing nothing, when dropped on the ground, it is half the size of a player.
