Iron longsword detail

The iron longsword is a longsword stronger than the bronze longsword. As with all Iron weapons, level 10 Attack is required to wield it. Players can make an iron longsword with the smithing skill at level 21 using 2 iron bars, giving the player 50 smithing experience. Players can purchase this longsword from the Varrock Swordshop in Varrock or from the Grand Exchange. It sells to the Varrock Swordshop for 42 coins.

This weapon, with the strength of longswords in general and the iron metal combined, can pack quite a punch for new players who are used to bronze weapons, its only drawback being its heavier weight. It also carries a decent defence bonus for a low-levelled sword. Like most other swords, on 12 April 2011, the Iron longsword received an update changing the way it was held by players.
