The iron defender is the second weakest defender. It is held in the off-hand in place of a shield. The iron defender is dropped by Cyclopes on the top floor of the Warriors' Guild, but only once you have obtained a Bronze defender. It is one of the two defenders that does not provide a strength bonus.

- The iron defender has -3 range, while all other defenders have -2 range. It is unknown if this was intentional or a mistake by Jagex.
