Insect repellent is a bottle of bug spray found on a table in a small house north of the bank in Catherby. It can also be obtained by talking to the Bee keeper in the apiary. It is used at the apiary to the west, between Catherby and Seers' Village, to drive bees out of their hives. Once they are out, players can collect wax from the hive using a bucket to obtain a bucket of wax, or alternatively, take the honey out itself to obtain a honeycomb which is used for summoning a Honey badger.

It had been also confirmed that it did not work on the discontinued swarm random event.
