Holy water is a powerful Ranged weapon that is used just like throwing knives and darts; however, it is only effective against demons. Holy water is nontradeable and has a +6 Ranged attack bonus when wielded. It is very effective against most types of demon (except Tormented Demons, although it can be used to remove their fire shield ^[1]) and leaves behind smashed glass when used.

While holy water has the base damage and accuracy of a level 1 weapon, it is very effective when used on demons; as a very rough estimate, it is able to produce damage similar to a level 65 weapon.

The making of Holy water is learned during the Legends Quest. It cannot be made by players who have not made sufficient progress into the quest. A blessed gold bowl, blessed by Gujuo, must be used to transfer the pure sparkling clear water found within the Kharazi pool into enchanted vials to make Holy water. Once the water is gathered into the bowl via a reed cut from the tall reed plants by the pool with a machete, it will need to be poured into enchanted vials which, when filled, are stackable. One bowl will fill ten enchanted vials.

The most effective way to make Holy water in bulk is to make 27 or 28 blessed gold bowls (takes a while), fill them, and use either Karamja gloves 3 to teleport to Shilo Village. As an alternative its possible to bank using a Ring of duelling/Amulet of glory/TokKul-Zo and returning to the jungle by either using a Witchdoctor mask or a Juju teleport spiritbag. It is important to note that if you try to leave the jungle on foot, the water will disappear from your bowls. You must teleport out of the jungle in order to use this method.

The most effective way to make the enchanted vials is to use restore potions along with the sulphur spring spa in Oo'glog with its nearby bank. Alternately use the bank at the Ourania Altar with the prayer altar directly above the bank (use cheap runes to bank, like body runes). Using these methods can cut cost and reduce time in making Holy water, potentially making up to 1,000 Holy water per hour (estimated). An even faster method can be used if a player is in a Clan with a Clan Citadel of level 5 or above, as there is a prayer altar next to the Head Guard.

Holy water is exceptionally useful when fighting Tormented Demons, as it will lower the fire shield just as Darklight would ^[1]. Traditionally, Darklight would be used on the shield instead, but their melee prayer would have to be dealt with first. Because the demons do not initially protect against Ranged, one can simply throw a vial of holy water and immediately proceed with the kill.
