Hard leather is used in the Crafting skill to make hard leather armour. It can be created by giving a cowhide and 3 coins to a tanner. Tanners can be found in Al Kharid, the Ranging Guild, Varrock, Taverley, Canifis, Prifddinas and the Crafting Guild.
Hard leather can be made into several armour pieces requiring between level 25 and 29 Crafting if a player has thread in their inventory. Note that steel studs cannot be added to hard leather armour. Buying cowhides and tanning them into hard leather gives a profit of 120 coins per cowhide.
Hard leather items
Hard leather can be made into hard leather items, if the player has some thread, a needle and the appropriate Crafting level. Each item requires one piece of hard leather.
