|Examine||A miniature dwarven cannon.|
The Hand cannon is a two-handed Ranged weapon released with the Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf quest on 9 September 2009. It requires a Ranged level of 75, a Firemaking level of 61, and the completion of the Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf quest to wield. Because of its damage and speed, it is a popular Rushing weapon. The hand cannon and its proprietary ammo, hand cannon shot are dropped by Cannoneers.
The hand cannon is one of the deadliest ranged weapons to date. It counts as a two-handed crossbow in between Karil's crossbow and the Royal crossbow in terms of strength. If the player's Firemaking level is sufficiently high (90+), it can prove to be an inexpensive alternative to the above two crossbows when killing monsters weak to bolts, such as waterfiends and warped tortoises.

- Before the Evolution of Combat this weapon used to have a special attack - Aimed Shot - in which the player would take aim at a target and fire after a short delay with increased accuracy, but with an increased chance of the hand cannon blowing up. This is similar to the basic ranged ability Snipe, in which the player delays for a while, before firing a shot with increased damage.
- There is a bug that when a player uses abilities, it appears that arrows are shooting out of the handcannon as opposed to cannon shot.
- Before the Evolution of Combat, the handcannon had a chance to explode with every shot, with a higher firemaking level making it less likely to explode.
- It is one of only two weapons requiring a certain Firemaking level to wield, along with the Inferno Adze.
