|Destroy||You must manufacture another one at an Invention workbench. You will also lose all the item's XP and gizmos.|
|Examine||With this device, you think you could smith anything almost anywhere. It hasn't been used yet.|
The hammer-tron is an enhanced Smithing tool that can be researched in the Invention skill for 150 Inspiration. Researching the ability to create this requires level 22 Invention. It contains 2 tool gizmo slots. Researching the ability to create hammer-trons also unlocks the ability to augment crystal hammers using augmentors.
Hammer-trons gain item experience at a rate of 7.8% of the base experience of normal Smithing actions performed while wielding it - this includes smelting bars, smithing bars, and actions in the Artisans Workshop. Protean bars give half the tool experience to hammer-trons compared to skilling with regular materials. This means that it takes approximately 514,000 Smithing experience using regular materials to raise the hammer-tron to level 10.
The Hammer-tron uses charges stored in the universal charge pack. When the charge pack runs out of charges, the item loses stats and gizmo effects, and can also no longer gain any equipment experience. Function will resume when the pack is recharged with divine charges.
Using corrupted ore on a furnace while holding the hammer-tron is an effective way of levelling up the hammer-tron because corrupted ore stacks in the inventory. This allows for a rather AFK levelling experience.
