Clean guam is a herb that a player has cleaned since growing it (see farming and Guam seed). It is the lowest level herb available. Cleaning a grimy guam gives 2.5 herblore experience. There is a guam spawn around level 52 wilderness in the fire giant cave.
Guam has five uses - it is used to make attack potions, for fueling swamp lizards (in the form of guam tar), for making Guthix rest potions (after completing the related segment of the One Small Favour quest), for making Super Fishing Explosives (after completing Kennith's Concerns and possibly the Mogre (miniquest)), and for infusing Macaw pouches. It can be made into guam tar or can be ground up with a pestle and mortar to create ground guam, an ingredient for fish food.
Many players drop these herbs to make room for better items. However, guam requires a secondary ingredient (eye of newt) that is easily acquired (because it is abundant in many stores) to make a potion. The resultant potion (the attack potion) yields 25 experience, thus it is great for getting experience in the lower Herblore levels.
