Golden rock (Agility) detail

A golden rock is an item required to build the Statue of Rhiannon in the Shattered Heart Distraction and Diversion. In order to start receiving the golden rocks, one must first toggle the ability by talking to Auron Ithell who is standing by a golden plinth in the Tower of Voices in Prifddinas. Though both rocks in a pair are identical, they do not stack in the bank.

The golden rocks can be added to the statue collection bag in the same way the strange rocks are. Unlike its strange rock counterpart, the statue can be built more than once per week.

Players require a skill level of at least 75 in all the skills listed below before they can start adding pairs of rocks to the plinth. Boosts do not work.

Although they are not restricted to only being found in Prifddinas, it is more likely to find one while skilling in a district of the city that has the Voice of Seren active. The chance to get the second rock for a skill is halved if the last rock obtained was also from the same skill. If the last rock obtained was from a different skill then this effect is removed.[source needed] Note that when obtaining rocks, the amount of experience gained per action is irrelevant, incredibly minor experience gains have exactly the same chance to yield a rock as one that gives lots.

The motherlode maw in Prifddinas can also give a random golden rock.

Obtaining[]

A player can identify what skill a golden rock is by examining it. Also, the different skills' rocks have different appearances. Skilling in a clan citadel does yield golden rocks, along with using the appropriate portable skilling station.

Skill Image Examine How to obtain
Agility Agility A rock found while practicing agility. Completion of the following courses:

Using either of the Surefooted Aura will help with rock collection by eliminating obstacle failure.

Cycling on an Auto-cycle in The Empty Throne Room is the fastest way to obtain golden rocks.

Alternatively, completing the Hefin Agility if the Voice of Seren is active over Hefin will offer good chances at getting rocks.

Construction Construction A rock found while constructing furniture. Working on furniture or any construction activity that yields experience in the Construction skill, including in building mode and creating flatpacks on a workbench.

Limestone fireplaces are recommended as limestone bricks can be acquired for 21 coins each from the stonemason in Keldagrim and sawmill operator in Prifddinas, with the latter being in close proximity to a bank chest and the Prifddinas house portal.

Wield the crystal saw made with harmony dust to double your chance of getting a rock.

Protean planks work to receive golden rocks.

Crafting Crafting A rock found while crafting. Making gold jewellery (best is to make gold bracelets); making items from leather or dragonhide; making molten glass in a furnace (as well as blowing it into glass objects); throwing clay on a potter's wheel (but not firing clay); making slayer rings; making cloth on the loom at a clan citadel; spinning items on a spinning wheel; crafting any type of battlestaff; blowing potion flasks; playing harps in Prifddinas. Crafting silver items will not yield golden rocks.

Creating crystal flasks or playing the harps in Ithell district during Voice of Seren will yield higher golden rock chances.

Divination Divination A rock found while divining. Gathering wisps and converting memories from any wisp colony. Gathering and depositing memory jars in Hall of Memories.
Dungeoneering Dungeoneering A rock found while spelunking. Completing dungeons in Daemonheim.

Rocks are awarded at the winterface. The amount of experience rewarded does not affect the chance of obtaining a rock, so it's advisable to complete small, complexity 4 floors with a friend for quick rocks (complexity 1 has more key doors, making it more maze-like and more guard doors, both of which take longer than skill doors found on complexity 2-4).

Completing Sinkholes and the Temple of Aminishi.

Farming Farming A rock found while harvesting produce. Harvesting/planting vegetables, hops, herbs, flowers, bushes, fruit trees and calquat trees; planting seeds or saplings. Raking weeds also works.

The fastest way to receive these rocks is to do a standard herb/allotment run while using supercompost on every patch. Have the magic secateurs with you when harvesting. If players have completed the hard Falador Tasks, it is also advisable to plant white lilies at all flower patches to protect allotment patches.

Harvesting crops from your fruit tree in Meilyr district or your herb/bush patch in Crwys districts during the respective Voice of Seren will have higher chances for golden rocks.

Mushroom clusters from the Arc is also advised as there is no need to wait for produce to grow.

Herblore Herblore A rock found when making potions. Combining unfinished potions with secondary ingredients, including barbarian mixes; making unfinished potions; or by cleaning herbs

It is highly recommended to either clean cheap herbs, such as marrentill or herbs that yield a profit when cleaned, while having the statue collection bag in inventory. The Herblore rock can be one of the fastest rocks to obtain by using this method.

Magic Magic A rock found while fighting magic users. Killing any monster that uses magic attacks and drops summoning charms.

Troll shamans in the Abandoned Burthorpe mine are recommended.

Melee Melee A rock found while fighting melee warriors. Killing any monster that uses melee attacks and drops summoning charms.

Troll Brutes in the Abandoned Burthorpe mine and Cows in Burthorpe are both recommended. Cows only have 25 life points and respawn extremely quickly.

Mining Mining A rock found while mining.

Mining anything in the Trahaearn district during the Voice of Seren is extremely fast.

It does not matter what is mined. You have a chance to get a rock every animation.

Prayer Prayer A rock found while performing last rites.

Since bones buried by the bonecrusher count, prayer rocks can be gained at the same time as the combat and slayer rocks. Consuming bones while wearing bone necklaces also works.

The following methods do not yield any golden rocks:

Ranged Ranged A rock found while fighting rangers. Killing any monster that uses ranged attacks and drops summoning charms.

Troll chuckers in the Abandoned Burthorpe mine are recommended.

Slayer Slayer A rock found while on assignment. Killing monsters on a slayer task. The highest slayer master available is recommended so more monsters are given per assignment.

Slayer contracts from Markus will yield slayer rocks without needing a task. Recommended repeating crawling hands contract and can double up slayer rocks and melee rocks. When using a bonecrusher you could triple efficiency by including prayer rocks.

Smithing Smithing A rock found while smithing. Smelting normal ores, including gold ore; smithing items from normal bars; making Cannonballs out of Steel bars; working at the Artisans Workshop. Smelting corrupted ore, especially during the Voice of Seren, is particularly fast.

It does not matter what is smithed, so if a player is on a budget, it is advisable to smith with cheap materials such as bronze bars or gold ore.

Activities that do not yield rocks: Superheating and Superheat Form curse, smelting ores in the Blast Furnace and protean bar smithing.

Summoning Summoning A rock found while crafting familiar pouches. Creating summoning pouches. Unlike other rocks, the chance of a rock is given per pouch and not per action.

For best chances of obtaining the rock per pouch made, it is best to create pouches at the Amlodd obelisk during Voice of Seren. Making spirit terrorbird pouches is recommended with buying raw bird meat packs from Chargurr in Oo'glog.

Woodcutting Woodcutting A rock found while cutting trees. Cutting any wood, ivy, Jadinko Lair roots, overgrown idol, or jungle near Tai Bwo Wannai as well as training at the sawmill.

Chopping logs or ivy in Crwys during Voice of Seren will yield rocks the fastest.

It does not matter what you cut. You have a chance to get a rock every animation.

Equipment[]

Statue collection bag interface (Golden rocks)

Golden rocks tab of the statue collection bag interface.

No special equipment is required to collect golden rocks; however the player can talk to Barnabus Hurma (or any of the other archaeologists within Varrock Museum), or Auron Ithell by the golden plinth, to receive a statue collection bag. This bag, if in your inventory or equipped, will automatically store any statue pieces a player gains from a skill activity (giving the message "You find a golden rock and add it to your bag."), and can be filled with the rocks you find.

When a player has two corresponding statue pieces in the bag, they may simply empty the bag and use the rocks on the statue base, or continue to collect further rocks until the bag is full - or anything in-between. The experience will be given at any time, until the last rock pair is ready. Thus, if a player needs that experience immediately to level, it can be received immediately. The player may also 'Look-in' the bag to check how many rocks have currently been collected.

If the player loses or drops the statue collection bag, the contents will also be lost, requiring the player to complete skill tasks to regain the rocks that were lost.

Rewards[]

Similar to the Dahmaroc statue, adding pairs of golden rocks gives experience in the related skill. Experience in combat skills may be allocated to Defence or Constitution instead.

The formula is , where x is the skill level. This is 20% more than the experience from Dahmaroc's statue.
