Gold ring

A detailed image of a Gold ring.

A Gold ring is made by using a gold bar and a ring mould on a furnace. It requires a crafting level of 5 and gives 15 experience when made.

Grum's Gold Exchange in Port Sarim buys at a better price than High Alchemy, depending on his current stock. If he has no gold rings for sale, he will buy the first for 210 coins. He'll sell one for 350 coins.

A gold ring is one of the rewards found in the Casket from the Pirate's Treasure quest.

As rings cannot be seen on a player, gold rings were commonly considered to be useless. As they have no gem and couldn't be enchanted, they just took up a ring slot in the equipment interface. However, players can have their gold ring enchanted into a Gold ring (i) at Mobilising Armies; this gives it a slight defence bonus. Unenchanted gold rings are a slightly useful source of income for low-levelled crafters.

When crafting large numbers of gold bars, it is recommended that the player craft one of the other pieces of gold jewellery instead of gold rings due to the higher amount of Crafting experience given. However, crafting gold rings if a relatively easy way for nonmembers that are new at crafting to raise their level.

  • To maximise your money you should craft gold necklaces, as these will be bought for the highest price at Grum's in Port Sarim (315 coins versus the gold ring's 245 coins).
  • To maximise one's Crafting experience, one should craft amulets, as these provide the most Crafting experience of all the plain gold jewellery (30 experience versus the gold ring's 15 experience.)

Gold rings are the tertiary ingredient in infusing Magpie pouches.
