A Giant frog is a monster found in the Lumbridge Swamp Caves and Dorgesh-Kaan South Dungeon. At level 99, they are the toughest monster in the dungeon. They are found to the south of the cave system, just outside the entrance to Juna's cavern.

Their low Defence combined with their high number of life points makes them a useful yet rarely used training monster, probably because of the need for a light source. Their frequent drops of nature runes and giant frog legs, which can be sold to Hudo in the Tree Gnome Stronghold for 1,000 coins apiece, when combined to their closeness to the Lumbridge Castle and Culinaromancer's Chest banks, can also make training fairly profitable.

Tips on killing

This monster is classified as a large monster and as such the dragon halberd special attack hits it twice.

It is easy to range them as there are numerous safe spots around the rocks in the middle of their cave. They can also be safe-spotted by shooting over the stream of slime next to them (only at Dorgesh-Kaan south dungeon), as they cannot get over it and do not have a ranged attack.

Near the Tears of Guthix entrance there is a river. If you stand on one side with the frogs on the other, you may range/mage them without getting hurt.

Trivia

• This monster is currently the only non-Slayer monster to drop Metal boots. It used to share this characteristic with Nex, who could drop dragon boots, but this was changed in a hidden update that removed the boots from Nex's drop table.
