Giant ant soldiers are found in the jade vine maze during and after the Back to my Roots quest. They can also be found in the Chaos Tunnels, in the room with the portal leading to the Tunnel of Chaos. They are much more dangerous than their combat level suggests, with a high attack level and a max hit of 200. Protect from Melee for its damage reduction and/or good food is therefore advisable for players with lower combat levels or no armour. They can hit very accurately, even on players with high defence or barrows armour. Giant ant soldiers are notable for their frequent drops of wergali seeds and grimy wergali as well as the occasional papaya tree seed. Giant ant soldiers are not immune to poison. They are weak to fire spells.
