Gerrant is the owner of Gerrant's Fishy Business in Port Sarim. He is seen wearing a white apron and toting a fishing pole around and he also wears a beige/light-brown fishing hat (not white cavalier). A white apron respawn is in his shop. He sells feathers, fishing bait, fishing poles (bait and lure), harpoons, lobster pots, crayfish cages, and all raw F2P fish. In Heroes Quest, Gerrant teaches the player how to make an oily fishing rod.

- Gerrant has had many different looks. In RuneScape Classic he was an elderly caucasian male. After the update he appeared to be an overweight, young, Hispanic male, and with the latest update he is an older caucasian male once again, but he has been given a hat and retained his weight.
- While most NPCs have a predesigned size and appearance, Gerrant is one of the few exceptions.
- There is a lot of speculation on whether his name is pronounced "Jairrant" or "Gairrant".
