These technical requirements must be met in order to play RuneScape.

- RuneScape: 512MB RAM, 1 GHz CPU, 128MB 3D graphics card[1][2]
- RuneScape HD: 2GB RAM, 2 GHz CPU (NOTE: Even with these requirements, it is 95% certain you will still have technical lagg issues relating to the performance of your comptuer, not the server i.e your FPS will be low.)

- Java Runtime Environment version 1.6, update 10
It is generally advisable to use the current Sun Java release. Only the Java Runtime (JRE) component is required, though installing midsize or deluxe soundbanks may improve the sound quality.
It is possible to tweak the Java settings in some installations. Significant tweaks include:

Can be selected to enable hardware scaling under the directdraw pipeling - default is off, as some driver implementations may not scale with acceptable quality.
