The Frozen Waste Plateau (also called Ice Plateau) is located in the north-west corner of the Wilderness. The area spans both free-to-play and members areas. It contains ice giants and ice warriors in the free-to-play area, and ice spiders in the members area. There are also spawns of water runes, cosmic runes, and law runes.

The highest-level beacon of the Beacon Network is found in the members' part of the Frozen Waste Plateau. It requires level 92 Firemaking to light and has no keeper.

The area can be quickly accessed using the Ghorrock Teleport from the Ancient Magicks spellbook or the Ice Plateau Teleport from the Lunar spellbook, both of which teleport to the same spot.

For some reason, the westernmost gate to cross into the members only area of the Wilderness was removed as of 13 December 2011 during the Wilderness graphical update. The gate has been added back on an unknown date.
