The Fremennik shield is a members-only shield. To wield one the player must have started the Fremennik Trials quest. They can be obtained as a monster drop from market guards, Dagannoth or warriors. 30 Defence is required to wield the shield.

The stats of the Fremennik Shield used to be identical to that of an adamant kiteshield. Its defensive bonus is now between a bronze kiteshield and an iron sq shield. Although the shield is not tradeable, it is possible to cast high Level Alchemy on it to obtain 3000 coins. In the "items kept in death" tab the Fremennik shield appears to have a carried wealth value of 5,000gp.

Bardur, located in the Waterbirth Island dungeon, will trade you sharks for Fremennik blades, Fremennik shields or Fremennik helms. However, it is usually more cost-effective to high-alch them, due to how out of the way Bardur is, and the value of sharks. Still, if you're there and got any of these as a drop, trading it for food can extend your trips.
