The Yew Grove is a place where community members can discuss larger changes to the wiki, such as policy proposals or suggestions to substantially redesign high-traffic content pages. As this page is viewed by a large number and variety of editors, you can expect fair and centralised discussions. Broadly construed, if the community would be interested in the topic, start it here. Even if a discussion is taking place elsewhere, it may be appropriate to announce that discussion here as well.

Notes:

• For discussions on RuneScape itself, use the subject's talk page. Alternatively, ask in the wiki's IRC channel or on site chat.
• Check previously rejected proposals before writing a proposal.
• For wiki assistance, opinions, or to make request to the users or administrators of this wiki, leave a note on the user help page or administrator requests page, respectfully.
• When a discussion is over, make sure the policy/consensus is put into effect before archiving the discussion.
• Process for closing threads:
  • All threads should be closed by adding archive=true to the forumheader template, followed by closure=allow/disallow/withdrawn/no proposal, date=~~~~~, user=USERNAME, and type=type of thread.
  • The subject parameter is used to describe the proposal or subject of the forum, for use in RuneScape:Forum Archives.
  • The notes parameter is optional based on if the closure needs clarifying beyond allow/disallow/etc.

  • Semi-protection needs to be applied to all archived discussions.
• Stickying: Threads may be stickied by adding sticky=true to the forumheader template. For example: {{Forumheader|Yew Grove|sticky=true}}
