It appears that rank requests have been reopened, and after looking at some pages, it appears that there are only 15 slots left on the R S Wikia friends list for ranks to be added. Between new users receiving administrative powers and the requests being reopened, all the slots will be filled quickly. Therefore, I propose that if a user with a rank becomes inactive, their rank is to be removed. If they return, their rank can be returned as well if requested. Support in principle. But is there still an issue with a delay between a decision being made by the wiki community and actually getting the changes implemented? It may be that we need to review the list periodically when it's getting full, and put out a notice to say that ranked users who are not very active should request their removal. If they become more active again, there should be no issue with getting the rank reinstated without the need to go through the request process again. It'd make more sense to:

Keep a list of all ranked users.
Periodically (say, every six months-year) make a notice that all CC ranked users who are still active to visit some page and do something that would confirm that they are still active.
Those who do not make it known that they are active 1 month after the notice are given a 1 week notice on their talk page.

Support - Great idea due to limits of friends list, if this passes however there will need to be guide lines for de-ranking if inactive such as not playing for at least X amount of time without notice, since someone might just not log on very often for a few days. Reason for the notice frankly is for if someone is going to be too busy for awhile example if a user is moving they're obviously not going to be on for awhile due to getting settled in and packing/unpacking. Really Monk? Trigger happy? Really? I said I noticed for a week how often there were no ranked users, where is trigger happy coming from? And seeing the other comment from a month ago when another user was saying they would go in and see no ranked users. I only say this because it isn't exactly changing a few words around in a rule. That was the only phrasing that came into my head, but I was caught off guard by this. Do I think that this is a bad idea? Not at all, Degen, but it should have had at least some mention in the Grove. That's all.

Support - I agree with Jim teh Mage, we should also decide on the exact definition of "inactive" and how we go about trimming the list, something along the lines of what Dave proposed above. In a case like that, nothing can be done. Simple. We can't force c teng to pay for membership, and forcing someone else to lose rank just because an oldie comes back is wrong. GOME^rwojy 00:46, February 2, 2010 (UTC)

Suggestion - I'm just worried about a retired user coming back to the cc to find his rank as gone, I'd be pretty angry. If we need it, I dont think we need to fill all 15 slots as there might be more admins in the future, I don't think we need more then 5 ranks given out. A few to the Australian timezone at about.10 AM GMT and a few ranks given out to players in the GMT who are active at times like..now. Swiz ^Talk ^{Review Me} 17:10, February 2, 2010 (UTC)

I'm going to try to jumpstart this, as 6 were recently closed as successful, bringing the total to 95!. We need to start deranking soon. I suggest anyone who hasn't logged into the wiki over the last 6-12 months be deranked. GDLH^rwojy 06:54, February 5, 2010 (UTC)

Anyone who hasn't logged in to the wiki or to the CC? What's more useful for the CC, a regular who has lost his "rank" because he rarely edits the wiki, or someone who is active on the wiki but never uses his CC rank, because he never logs in? But then again, how can we know when someone last logged in to the CC?

That is impossible to determine, unless someone is in the cc 24 hours a day, every day, taking note of who longs in. Anyway, it is a necessity for old people to be removed, as c teng has hit the limit for friends. Unless anyone else has a viable option, people must be removed. I've been in the cc for quite a while, and haven't seen any of them. Also, my sleeping hours are varied, so I have been in the cc at every hour before. Does that qualify them as not being very active? NTGFV^rwojy 09:49, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

Another suggestion - On the list of ranked users, I noticed that a lot of users have their pure/skiller/alternate accounts ranked as well. I propose that the ranks on users' alternate accounts are removed to save further space. ~ Sentry Telos ^Talk 07:39, February 21, 2010 (UTC)

Can we leave them a quick message on their talk page, just letting them know that we're removing them purely for space concerns, and if they want to be added to the CC list again, just let us know. That way everyone is in the know.
