Recently Wikia started the Wikia Alliance where we can either join the Fantasy Fellowship, Heroes United or SciFi Galaxy alliance. Now, it may sound stupid, but let me finish! If we sign up, we get:

Exclusive content and star interviews from other communities in our alliances
Promotion on the alliance hubs and on Twitter

If that's not good enough for you, we also get...a badge (!!!@@@!) that proudly shows what alliance we're in. What more could we realistically ask for? A badge, guys.

Now, some of you will say "this sounds stupid and not very encyclopedic and Wikia is grasping at straws", but at the same time...fuck it. Just fuck it.

Undecided leaning on oppose - What true benefits would we be gaining from this? Maybe the added revenue from twitter advertising, but 'exclusive content and star interviews from other communities in our alliances' doesn't sound good. I wouldn't expect most of the other wikis to have some sort of secret update stuff they learned from a JMod, unless I've somehow completely taken this out of context. heroes united - because the logo emblem thing for it is a w in a font similar to the wikia logo and wikia is the best company in the history of jimmy wales

Seriously though, if we're actually going to engage in this, it wouldn't make any sense for us to be in Heroes United, and it wouldn't make any sense for us to be in "SciFi Galaxy" (don't think anybody is disputing that), so the only thing remaining is Fantasy Fellowship which makes enough sense. I still don't quite understand what it actually is yet (Wikia seems to think that yelling "Free Stuff! Badges! Promotion!" is an adequate explanation), but I'm fine to go through with it on the guarantee that there are badges in it for us. You can never have enough badges.
