I'd like to request IRC Operator flags in #rswiki. I previously had them til.... Less than 5 minutes ago. Christine removed them. She said it was because I continually voiced users after being told to stop. I will admit to voicing users. However, the voicing users doesn't make them any more powerful as most of you already know.

Strong support - Sorry Christine, but you're just being ridiculous. For one thing, since voicing people for fun does not hurt the channel in any way, there is nothing wrong with what ty did. Second, as you're following a non-existant policy on voicing, you did not have the right to remove his op rights in the first place. Yeah. And while we're at it, let's make sure Christine understands the role and responsibilities of a channel manager. - The voice policy for #rswiki doesn't really exist. Not officially, anyway. Voices are kind of just handed out on a whim, to and by whoever feels like it at the time. Strong support - Ty is an excellent op and it is nothing more than an abuse for power to deop an operator that has done nothing wrong. Abuses of power cannot be tolerated, especially when the user holds the position of channel manager and founder. Even more if they cite a non-existent rule. The voice function on the #rswiki channel is used only for giving RuneScript a shiny yellow identification circle-badge (in my client) and when operators feel like arbitrarily voicing users for fun. Voices have been given since the beginning of time, until Christine embarked on her one-person crusade in defence of a rule that does not even exist. Voice is near impossible to abuse, unless the channel is in +m moderated mode, which it isn't; or the person is +q quieted, which never happens (unless myself or other ops are doing it for fun). I've been "warned" before, and I'd contribute to the logs being posted but I'm scared of the labyrinth of text I would have to navigate to find them. 222 talk 06:36, July 12, 2012 (UTC)
Strong support - This is bullshit. If there would have to be a thread, it would have to be Christine requesting TyA's operator status to be removed, not the other way around. Christine doesn't have the manager status so that she can just remove statuses from other users whenever she wants. I think it would be good to give TyA back his rights, and let this thread continue to see if the consensus turns out to be any different than that, and remove the rights again if that is the case.
