A Fly trap is one of the plants released in the Farming update on 20 May 2013. It grants an appropriate amount of Thieving experience, based on the player's Thieving level, if the fruit is retrieved without taking damage from the flower.

Harvesting it also grants an appropriate amount of Farming experience, based on the player's Farming level. At level 94, it gives 50 exp. At higher levels, it can give up to 75 exp.

Growth time for the fly trap is 3 hours 10 minutes. It has 5 growth stages, each stage needs to be watered.

The protection fee for the gardener is 15 cadava berries.
