Cremating a shade
Flamtaer was a deity worshiped by the citizens of Mort'ton, most likely long before the arrival of Saradomin. He ruled the area during the Second Age, and also during the vampyre conquest of Morytania in the Third Age. A temple dedicated to him is used during the Shades of Mort'ton minigame. It is highly likely that he is the god of Fire. It is possible that he was a benevolent deity, as his temple was used for marriage ceremonies.
[edit] Trivia
- It is possible to buy a Flamtaer hammer from Mort'ton construction store for 13,000 coins. This suggests that unlike most God-sacred items this one is not relatively precious.
- The hammer is also sold by Rasolo for 26,000 coins and during the quest Desert Treasure he says 'Only the idiotic merchant gives away his last of stock.' when asked for another ring of visibility. This indicates that there are probably many more hammers in existence.
- The name "Flamtaer" may be an anagram of "flame-tar", making it even more possible to be the God of Fire. Also, Swamp tar is used to repair the temple after mixing with flour and being cooked to make Swamp paste, and the temple is built around a sacred flame, which may just be a coincidence or the origin of its name.
