They give a 2% bonus to experience gained through Firemaking, which will stack with the 2% bonus from the Ring of fire, however, when worn with the Ring of fire, the total bonus is 5%. They do not give any bonus for lighting the fire altar in the Temple of Mort'ton.
To get this reward you must light 10 beacons in the activity All Fired Up and talk to the King of Varrock. Should one lose the Flame gloves, one must light the 10 beacons again to re-obtain them. Lighting the beacons again while already having the gloves does not give any reward.
For the experience given while wearing these gloves and burning logs please see the All Fired Up (activity) page.
Note: The Flame Gloves will not appear at your gravestone if you die.
A player wearing the flame gloves

- Flame gloves originally gave a 3% boost.
- When wearing Flame gloves and an Abyssal whip, a strange glitch occurred where the glove's appearance on the player appeared stretched, shown at right. This was fixed on 19 July 2010.
- The Game guide used to show a different image (File:Flame gloves game guide.png). It is unknown if it was the original image intended for the flame gloves.
