A Fishing cape can be purchased for 99,000 coins alongside the Fishing hood from the master fisher standing inside the Fishing Guild by players who have achieved skill mastery (level 99) in Fishing. It is the Cape of Accomplishment for the Fishing skill. Fishing capes are light blue in colour if untrimmed, and have a gold trim if the player has more than one level 99 skill.

Fishing is a popular skill due to the lack of commitment needed to achieve level 99. Although the experience/hour rates are not high, one can simply click on a fishing spot and wait without performing any other action. Fishing can also bring in a moderate profit, and can be combined with Cooking to train the two skills simultaneously.

The cape has an emote, lasting 6.78 seconds, during which the player harpoons a fish out of a small pond of water which appears during the emote. The Fishing cape must be equipped in order to perform this emote.

Should a player achieve skill mastery in a second skill after Fishing, their Fishing cape will become a Fishing cape (t). The trimmed version has a yellow trim and adds a +2 Prayer bonus to the cape's original stats. Should a player achieve 99 Fishing after any other 99, the cape received will automatically be the trimmed version.

TriviaEdit

  • Unlike other skillcapes, if you look closely at the untrimmed version, it looks like the blue bit on the outside is already trimmed but not detached.
  • The trim on the Fishing cape is the same as the trim on the Firemaking, Fletching, Smithing and Crafting cape.
  • There is a very rare glitch where the active skill level will suddenly return to 99 from 100 after using the cape's boost if one boosts just before beginning to fish. (This is not a timing out of the boost)
