Fire Bolt requires a Magic level of 35 and can do a maximum of 12 damage per spell. This spell is the most powerful spell of the bolt family and requires 4 fire runes, 3 air runes, and 1 chaos rune.
Fire bolt is often used with chaos gauntlets to fight high-levelled monsters such as dragons, trolls, lesser demons, Kamil in Desert Treasure, or do the Barrows minigame. Fire bolt can do a maximum of 16 with one of the staves that hit 10% more damage, and Chaos gauntlets, which become available after talking to Johnathon after completion of the Family Crest quest.
It is also used by many people for ordinary magic training as it is a good spell and can hit a lot of damage, but it is not too expensive.
Fire Bolt costs 165 coins for each cast if the player is not using a staff, but it costs 129 while wielding a staff of air.

- Before the Runescape HD update, Fire Bolt differed in appearance and shape from other spells in its category. While Wind Bolt, Water Bolt, and Earth Bolt appeared pointy, Fire Bolt appeared round. After the update, all Bolt spells were changed to adopt the shape and texture of Fire Bolt, to maintain consistency.
Remember, you cannot use Ancient Magicks or Lunar Spells if you are using regular spells
