Mystery meat is a food item obtained during the Broken Home quest. It fully restores life points when eaten during the quest. Mystery meat can be found in various chests in safe rooms inside the mansion, and restarting from your save point also gives you some mystery meat.
If the meat was ever somehow taken out of the mansion, eating it would result in the message: "The rancid taste of the meat shows it has become rotten, so you discard it."
Mystery meat can be found in chests like these.
