Ice skates are used in Live and Let Slide, the second part of the 2015 Christmas event. They are made by using two iron battleaxes on a pair of leather boots. They are used to go ice skating in the rink on the Iceberg, and are worn in the foot slot when skating but can't be taken off the rink normally.
There was a glitch in which the player could prevent their character from entering the rink while already having the ice skates equipped. This enabled players to smuggle the ice skates outside and use them anywhere. However it was later patched in a hidden update on 14 December 2015. Players who had ice skates had them removed when the 2015 Christmas event was removed from the game.
