The helm of corruption is part of a Treasure Hunter promotion. This item counts the number of consecutive kills you have achieved. It gives notifications at 5, 15, 50, 100, and 150 kills. Once the kill streak ends, it will state the number of kills you have achieved during that streak. The helm also changes cosmetically (the horns start coursing with fire) after certain numbers of kills. Once you hit the 50 kill mark, it will continue to glow until the streak is over. This item will still keep track of your streak and will change accordingly if keepsaked. Keepsaking it would also not remove the item from inventory.
