Astlayrix's name is a pun on the '80s pop star Rick Astley and the common convention of ending druidic names with '-ix' (itself after ancient Gaulish Celtic naming conventions). His examine text is an allusion to "Never Gonna Give You Up", Astley's hit song that has become the centre of an internet meme.
