Fighter torso

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

The Fighter torso is a piece of members-only armour. To wear one, a player must have at least 40 Defence. A Fighter torso can be obtained by exchanging 375 Honour Points, in all four roles, after killing the Penance Queen at least once in the Barbarian Assault mini-game. The Fighter torso was the only piece of chest armour that provided a strength bonus until the release of Bandos chestplate, Vesta's chainbody, and Statius's platebody.

Since it is technically free, the fighter torso is often used by players who do not wish to purchase a Bandos chestplate. It is popular because of the strength bonus and its high slash defence. It is also commonly used by pures because of the strength bonus combined with the low defence level required. Some players wear a Fighter torso while cursing low level monsters, because of its large negative magic bonus.

The Fighter torso is occasionally preferred over the Rune Platebody, even though it has less stab and crush defence bonus, as the Fighter torso's +4 bonus to strength increases the maximum hit of a player by 1.

A Fighter torso cannot be picked up from a player's Gravestone should they die with it. To get another Fighter torso, players must earn 375 more Honour points in each role while playing Barbarian Assault, however another Queen kill is not necessary.

[edit] Trivia

  • Using the Items Kept on Death screen, players can find that a fighter torso has a hypothetical value of 20,000 coins, which is it's high alchemy and low alchemy values combined
