Fighting boots are obtained as a reward for completing the Stronghold of Security. If lost, they can be obtained, or exchanged for Fancy boots, from the Cradle of Life at the end of the fourth level. Fighting boots provide bonuses very similar to those of iron boots. These boots, along with Fancy boots, have the best defence bonuses of any boots available to free players. The Fighting boots also come in many varieties, as the two bands around the ankle on the boots are always the same colour as the character's hair colour, so if the player's hair colour is purple the boots will have two purple bands around the ankle. This causes the Fighting Boots to have many possible styles.

Because the Safety gloves have the same colour scheme as the fighting boots, they are often worn along with the boots.

As with all foot-based equipment, except for the leather boots and snakeskin boots, this item can not be made using the Smithing or Crafting skills.
