Fenrir is a wolf that spawns roughly every 15 minutes during the 2016 and 2017 Winter event north-east of the golden apple tree, near the fairy ring with code AJR and the troll Lalli. Rewards from killing him include his tooth that can be consumed for Herblore or Summoning experience and bonus experience.

When he appears, a global announcement is broadcast: News: With a howl, Fenrir has appeared! Head to Rellekka and help defeat him!

Fenrir doesn't count as a wolf for Slayer assignments.

StrategyEdit

He appears with smaller versions of Hati and Sköll that must be defeated before any damage can be done to Fenrir. His special attacks are raining down fiery meteors onto players dealing rapid damage based on the player's current life points, resummoning the Images of Hati and Sköll, Slaughter, and a roar that causes players nearby to have their abilities put on a global cooldown for 3.6 seconds. Any damage directed to Fenrir while the images are present is reduced and redirected to the images.

TriviaEdit

  • Like Hati and Sköll, who are based on the Nordic Hati Hróðvitnisson and Sköll, Fenrir is based on the figure of the same name featured in Norse mythology. This is in keeping with the image of the Fremennik, who are based heavily on the real-world Norsemen. In Norse mythology, he is the father of Hati and Sköll.
  • On release it spawned every 30 minutes. This was changed to every 15 minutes on the 19 January 2016.
