Fareed chathead

Fareed, the Warrior of Smoke is one of the four guardians of the Diamonds of Azzanadra and a boss in the Desert Treasure quest. To wield a weapon while fighting him (including staves), players must be wearing ice gloves. Players must light the 4 torches in the smoke dungeon and head towards the chest in the middle of the dungeon to get a key which opens the door to Fareed's Throne Room, which is the site of the battle. He is considered by some as the easiest boss in Desert Treasure.

Fareed is fightable along with Damis, Kamil and Dessous as a class B boss monster in the Dominion Tower minigame if the player has completed Desert Treasure. See Dominion Tower/Desert bosses strategy for a guide on how to defeat the combined four bosses.

Strategy[]

Fareed is completely immune to all Ranged attacks except ice arrows, and he is immune to all elemental spells except water spells. In addition if Ice gloves are not equipped when fighting Fareed, your main-hand weapon will automatically unequip when attempting to attack him.

It is possible to kill Fareed using magic without Ice gloves. You can do this by equipping only an off-hand weapon, such as a magic book or orb, and only casting water spells from the off-hand. This is preferably done in Legacy mode as you cannot use abilities without a main-hand weapon but auto-attack damage is greatly boosted while in Legacy mode.

Fareed may also be defeated with melee, although he has a high melee resistance so Magic is most recommended. Fareed primarily uses melee and can hit into the low 500s with it if the player wears ice gloves, otherwise he can hit over 1000. He possesses a short range inaccurate magic attack, though if the player keeps their distance between Fareed this will be of no concern. The use of Impact/Deep Impact abilities as well as Bind, Snare and Entangle will help the player keep their distance from him.

Trivia[]

  • Fareed means "Special" or "Unique" in Arabic.
  • Fareed originally had a combat level of 167. It was raised to 227 with the introduction of the Dominion Tower, and changed again to 120 after the Evolution of Combat launch.
