Escape is a Ranged basic ability, the only one of its class that does not deal damage. The 7 metres indicated in the ability description are each equivalent to game squares tiling the world of Gielinor.
The ability shares its cooldown with Surge, meaning none of these abilities can be used directly after each other.
When wielding a Ranged weapon, the distance travelled becomes the Attack range of your weapon minus 1, for a minimum of 3 while using Darts and a maximum of 8 while using a Noxious Longbow.
The Mobile perk will halve its cooldown, but at the cost of gaining no adrenaline.

Escape cannot be used in the following areas:
- 2016 Easter event wight maze; every other area is allowed
- Clan Citadels
- Player-owned houses
- Private hunting areas
- Rune Essence mine
- Quest instances
- Duel Arena
- Premier Club Vault
