Energy potion

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

A detailed view of an energy potion

An energy potion is made using the Herblore skill by mixing harralander in a vial of water and then adding chocolate dust. This requires level 26 herblore, and gives 67.5 herblore experience.

[edit] Uses

Each dose of this potion restores 20% of the players run energy.

If the player adds caviar to a 2-dose potion, it will become a 2-dose energy mix, which heals 3 hitpoints in addition to restoring 20% run energy.

[edit] Price History

Before the random event update, this potion had a stable price. Afterwards, the lack of strange fruit caused the price of this potion to soar up to nearly 6k for a three dose vial.

In a later update on 9 June 2009, the run energy system was rebalanced. The need for energy potions went down dramatically. Additionally, the potion restored twice as much energy (10% to 20%). The only people who actually need to restore run energy are low level agility players. This caused the price to drop down to about 200gp for a three dose potion.

Furthermore, the shop update, reducing the supply of vials, caused the vial price to skyrocket past the price of this potion. This means it is more economical to empty this potion and just reuse the vial. This potion is now essentially useless.

[edit] Production costs

The data in this table is based on the Grand Exchange prices of the Vial of water, herb, and secondary ingredient(s). It is accurate assuming all three items are bought off of the Grand Exchange and the resulting potion is sold afterwards.
